I am the only member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) who performs hair transplant surgery on a full-time basis. I have over a decade of experience in hair restoration not only for genetic male and female hair loss, but also for reconstruction post trauma and burns.

I am the current President of the British Association of Hair Restoration Surgery (BAHRS) and, on its behalf, advise the UK Department of Health on matters to do with Hair Restoration Surgery (HRS) such as the Health Education England review of the training requirements for Cosmetic Procedures. I advise the Joint Council for Cosmetic Surgery (JCCP) and the Cosmetic Practice Standards Authority (CPSA). I also advise the British Standards Institute (BSI) on projects involving HRS. I am the specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for matters to do with HRS in England and similarly advise Healthcare Inspectorate Wales.

I am involved in the education of doctors learning about Hair Transplant Surgery, regularly lecture at aesthetic conferences, and am part of the faculty at the University College London’s Plastic Surgery MSc program. I participate in hair related research collaborating with Imperial College, Queen Mary University London, and Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital and have published widely on subjects to do with hair loss and hair restoration.

I was awarded the ‘Fellow’ status by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) in 2014 which recognises senior Hair Transplant Surgeons around the world and I am a Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery.

I chair the ISHRS Ethics Committee and sit on the ISHRS Best Practice Committee as well as the ISHRS ad hoc Committee on Regulatory Issues. I have been on the faculty of several ISHRS Annual Scientific Meetings including being on the ‘coffee with the experts’ panel and I have chaired the ISHRS Basics Course which teaches beginners new to the field of hair transplant surgery.
