Dr Anita Takwale has been a Consultant Dermatologist and the skin cancer lead in Gloucestershire since 2008. She is the chairperson of the multi-disciplinary team for high risk skin cancers such as malignant melanoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Her special interest is in hair and nail problems.
Dr Takwale undertook her specialist dermatology training both in India (Pune) and in the UK (West Midlands, Bristol, and Cardiff). Her sub specialty training for hair and nail disorders had been under the highly respected national expert Dr David de Berker at Bristol.
Dr Takwale has developed and provides a comprehensive regional hair and nail service for the South west and beyond since 2011. She supervises the weekly Diphencyperone clinic for treatment of alopecia areata at Gloucester and holds regular meetings with dermatopathologist trained in hair pathology, enabling deeper analysis and investigation of problems.
She is married to an orthopaedic surgeon and has two daughters.
